I speak German at work, but after work my heart speaks Albanian. I am very integrated, but that doesn't mean assimilated”, says Elona Kamberi for albinfo.at, one of the most successful Albanian women in Austria.

From the Albanian mountains of Opoja comes a spark in the brightness of our Albanian image to the heart of Europe, where the floors take the lead tomorrow as well. It's this little, modest, but confident, modern man's attitude as he wants time, his name is Elona Kamberi.

It comes from the village of Blatch to the height where the rocks speak Albanian, where the Asian darkness of fanaticism toward the woman attempts to engulf Opion. Nay! There, parents Kamberi, with tradition in education and national education, brought the light of wisdom, their children educated them by giving girls priority. Educated by the high schooled mountain family, conceived with the inherited virtues of generations, Elona Kamberi, will go up in the arms of science and duty to the most prestigious Austrian newspaper “Presse“. And this will be the next step towards the gates of Austria's highest institutions, the country, where its work and result are appreciated, its value in the interest of perspective. As far as the first immigrant being placed in a local ministry, even its successful manager.

Each, especially, those who engage in scriptures when they get acquainted with the successes of an Albanian girl have powerful emotions and curiosity to meet closely to learn about her life and plans. Since early on, Elona had a desire to be educated abroad. In Austria comes in 2004, they register the high school, which is successfully completed and then studies; parallel to political sciences and language translators: German, English, and Italian. In addition to studies, it works on several projects. In the newspaper's competition “Die Presse” (stypi) competes for journalists and in the receiving test, Elona is accepted among the 5 journalists' candidates from 200 competitors. It was a convincing indication of Elona's excellent preparation for her studies. Initially in “Die Presse” works as an intern, but after being very successful at work, it is possible for her to be a newspaper free journalist for a short time.

Ministerial cabinet manager

Her engagement and successes at “Die Presse” are valued by her editorial staff and editor. He, given Elona's skills, suggests competing for managers in the Ministry of Environment and Planning cabinet after the new minister was elected. Elona decides to compete by meeting the criteria in strong competition, and manages to be employed. For Elon, this was a surprise knowing the circumstances, how difficult competition was. “In this regard has helped me to get knowledge of several languages, knowledge from international politics, and in particular journalism, that's communication with the press that needed the Ministry of Environment so much”, it says of albinfo.at. My “tasks were: to organise international meetings, to be able to bring personnel here to the ministry for talks, prepare the minister about the particular subject, and what are the states' actualities from where they come from, about diplomacy to reaching a country's interest agreement; prepare it for media contact; various interviews. It wasn't easy. It often took a week of my intensive work to prepare the minister's meeting with the media: TV, press and”. When the minister was in the office and we had visitors, he had to take care of the discussion with them to write down the protocol on the meeting as documentive material. Elona also had the role of the Ministry for International Media spokeswoman and the review of their requests.

Interestingly, our daughter was the first immigrant of all time to work directly at a minister's cabinet. A case I don't forget was when Austria's former cascellari, Wolfgang Schüssel, visited. He asked me about nationality. I told him I was Albanian. He said: I knew Albanians were very intelligent, but not so much could come to manage our ministry's offices. It was a great honor to me and the image of Albanians in general”.

In Austria, Albanians have a good image, most are well integrated, Elona is an excellent example, which makes her contribution to it through her work as a journalist and her commitments to important projects showing the ability and attitude towards work and social circles. I speak German at work, but after work my heart speaks Albanian. I'm very integrated, but that doesn't mean assimilation. I'm of Kosovo citizenship, it's never stopped me”, she adds.

Elona receives gratitude from Minister André Rupprechter

In October 2017, Minister Andreä Rupprechter, satisfied with Elona's work, shares it with motivation: “for contributing to the implementation of the project for rural development in Austria”. She dedicates this prize to her already felt friend Dr. Vlora Mehmeti Turshan, who as she puts it, was a model and inspiration in every respect.

Currently, Mrs. Kamberi works in the cabinet of Austrian Minister for Digitalisation and Economic Development Margarete Schrabmböck. She is the leader of the Austrian state-run Task Force for implementation of the European Commission's “Gren Deal” plan and represents Austria at all co-ordinating meetings in this area in Brussels. Task-force collects different sectors of politics, economy and civil society that are interested in transforming a more friendly society and economy into the environment. Elona Kamberi is the name for which it will be constantly heard, an Albanian example for generations to come. Example to teach Albanian parents how valuable it is to invest right in child schooling, especially girls.
