Of the four candidates selected by the commission, MPs at today's plenary session have voted for two of them.
Driton Muharremi, Hashim Colak, Hasim Sogojevo and Vilard Bytyqi have been candidates in the race for KDR members. Driton Muharrem of Wilard Bytyqi are the elected members of the KDR.
After the second round of votes, Democratic Party of Kosovo deputy Ariana Musliu-Sashi has announced that 87 MPs have participated in the vote.
A total of 87 deputies have participated in the vote. Invalid votes are one. And the votes are taken as follows: Dritton Muharremi 45 votes, Hashim Colak 33 votes, Hasim Sogojevo 35 votes, and Willard Bytyqi 37 votes”, she said.
The deputy head of the Kosovo Assembly, Kujtim Shala, said that under this report the two elected members of the Kosovo Judiciary Council are Driton Muharremi and Wilard Bytyqi.
“Based on the voting commission's report, the Parliament chose Driton Muharremi and Willard Bytyqi members of the Kosovo Judiciary Council with a five-year term. Muharrem received 45 votes and Bytyqi 37 votes”, Shala has announced.
The election of candidates for members of the KDR is by secret vote, and their mandate is five years old.
