AAK MP Rasim Selmanaj has warned that the country could go to the polls if the president is not elected leader of his party, Ramush Haradinaj.
Through a Facebook post, Selmanaj said the president's election depends on the AAK, or there may be elections in the country.
“We are aware that the president's election depends exclusively on AAK deputies or the country sending to elections those who block this proposal”, the post says.
Selmanaj has even gone further, saying that going to the polls can only prevail VV and AAK, since these two parties, according to him, are consolidated with electorates.

About the President and the debate:
We have the president-elect, regardless of personal opinion, me and, I believe, a devastating part of the people are with him in relation to the Special Court, because we firmly believe in the clean war of our people in the late 20th century.
We are aware that the president's election depends largely on AAK deputies or the country sending to elections those blocking the proposal.
Going into the election only controls the VV and AAK, which are also consolidated and have well-guarded electoral substance.
So, despite anti-proliferation, Haradinaj's nomination for president and his election would strengthen institutions and create credibility of a unifying figure for all Kosovo citizens.
