As a young man, I grew up loving and liking the football club “Trepca”. My generation's love of football in the '80s was closely tied to Fadil Vokrri. He scored goals everywhere he played. As far as Fadhil's goals were emotion and sports joy, so were political protests. As a fan of the tribunes, I first met him physically in Paris, in 1999, where with President Rugova and several fellow countrymen, we had a drink.
Although Kosovo faced ethnic cleansing by the Serb conqueror, Fadhil, who was not involved in politics, was concerned about the importance of peace and eagerly expected his and generation experience to be carried to Kosovo's youth.
His dream came true! By his wisdom, wisdom, and talent, he has come to be honored throughout the world. Although then W EFA and FIFA still had their doors closed for Kosovo, Fadil's name opened every door. With Kosovo's membership in UEFA and FIFA, he made us feel proud and of sports identity. Every moment of the Kosovo National team's game is a special emotion. Even the ninth minute that symbolizes the number that Fadil Vokry carried is special and remains history.
