MPs discuss access to online sessions

Gageri proposed the motion and meeting in the midst of emergency parliamentary groups, since according to her, many MPs may be missing at the next meetings because of the Devi-19 infection.

“Change the rules of the Assembly and have the opportunity to work from a distance, because so far ten MPs are tested positive with the Coddy virus. I am very skeptical and I suspect that a much larger number here are infected, so time is urgent to change the regulation, meeting representatives of parliamentary groups with a simple text that because of the current pandemic sessions will be held from distance to 1,2.3 or until we see fit as parliamentary groups”, she said.

The AAK's Daut Haradinaj said online voting would be a relief under current circumstances.

“Electronic voting will be the only form in this circumstance, as far as I can tell, even a deputy with Coddy plus, leads that this is already going to grow, there are concerns within MPs for participation as well, but we will still give support, but we will find the form in consultation even with the chairmanship to find the easiest form of how to proceed”, he said.

To make that decision, 80 of the deputies in the Kosovo Assembly are needed.

While Vetevendosje's chief of deputies, Rexhep Selimi said they do not offer support for this to be taken into order today, as he said needs to be debated.

“We have right our reserves regarding the motives of this initiative, however we would like the Kosovo Parliament to be functional in all circumstances in accordance with regulations and legislation in force, but I want to be sure that this is not an initiative to be misused. Imagine if yesterday the government had this regulation available today we would have another situation in Kosovo as well as the Kosovo Parliament. So we have to put the debate first with each other, so we can be sure of the motives of this”, he said.

And according to Parliament Speaker Vjosa Osmani for such a thing, consensus of parliamentary groups is needed.

Since I've proposed this as an idea since March, the motive has been to prevent infection here in the hall, at least I'm talking to myself, I can't know or speak for other people's motives. The second one, the proposal has been to make it worth a certain time and third not to be worth a secret vote, but only open voting, but yet I am informing you that the administration has not been deposited, cannot enter into the agenda, because the precondition has been to have consensus, and since there has been no consensus it has not been filed, but it does not prevent MPs from making their own proposals”, she said.

She said that headship will try to reconcile this at the next meeting.

And Bedri Hamza i The PDK said we support the possibility of online voting.

“On issues of importance for the country and certain situations, eliminating to the maximum situations when there may be any deviations from the good purpose of adopting this regulation, we as a parliamentary group support having the opportunity to vote online”, Hamza said.
