The last week of June and early July have marked increases in the number of people infected with COVID-19 in Kosovo. In fact, on July 8, 214 cases were confirmed in our country for one day, marking the highest number of people infected with the virus since the introduction of the first cases with the virus (March 13th).
Raka has said that the trend of increasing the number of cases in last week is disturbing.
“The trend of increasing the number of cases in last week is disturbing. The main pillar of response to pandemic is Kosovo's health capacity, which is being overloaded every day. We have contributed to this increase to all: citizens who ignore precautions at all. But politicians who continue to use COVID-19 as an assembly for mutual security. Also, not to be forgotten is the data of the last few days about the mutation of the virus, with which the easiest and fastest spread of it” is possible, he has declared.
Speaking of the epidemiological situation, Raka says the decline of cases can only occur if strict implementation of preventative measures, otherwise the trend of mass spread in the community will continue.
We're not looking for anything abstract or unalterable by citizenship: physical distance, mask and hand hygiene. The decline can only be expected if the preventive measures are strictly implemented. Otherwise, the trend of mass spread in the community will continue”, he added.
As for restoring restrictive measures, Raka says full quarantine is the government's last choice.
Even in this area, legal and political problems that burden the health component have been repeated. Part of the measures have already been undertaken, while full quarantine is the last solution by the government”, he stressed on Telegrafi.
