Hoti: About 56 %s of companies have been closed during pandemic

Chief executive during the debate held by the Riinvest Institute, where the “Association report with COVID-19 was released: Three pillars of recovery” said the number of people affected by the virus cord in Kosovo has begun to fall, and thus pledged that there has been increased effectiveness of the measures. Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti said fighting the pandemic remains a priority for the government he leads.

He pledged that they have begun preparations to provide another 100,000 serial tests, in case there are second waves of the spread of the David-19 pandemic.

We had to make some decisions about limiting activities in certain sectors, in particular gastronomy. As for building health institutions' capacities, we have centralized the way we are managing these capacities, we have entered into the process of fully reorganizing clinics within the Hospital Service by converting these clinics to the function of providing for the services of the affected individuals. We have created additional capacities in the region, in regional hospitals”, he said.

Hoti said the procedures for buying seven test apartments in the region have also begun, until he added that it is disturbing that 30 per cent of citizens see no danger in the Covid-19 pandemic.

I believe that in the last four-five days, probably in the last week because of these affected measures, the number of impacts has begun to decline. Not to the extent that we would like, but I expect a week-two to halve the number of affected. Perhaps because of increased effectiveness of the masses. The assessment we've received from international and local organisations on the basis of citizen research is disturbing that 30 per cent of citizens don't take the matter of Ovidius as life risks. And as a result, they don't respect the measures we've taken so far”, he says.

Among other things, it has stressed that once the budget is approved in the Kosovo Assembly, other payments will be processed on the basis of tax emergency measures.

About 56 per cent of companies during pandemic time have been closed either because of a lack of customers or because of difficulties in carrying out the necessary payments, but in particular because of the government measures that were taken during the months of total closure... we are now found thus with a list of emergency bodies that have been estimated to total 179, 6, 180m euros for 15 measures designed by the government. The number of applicants of each and the amount required to compensate amounted to 180m euros. Some of these measures have been fully implemented in part, some have yet to be implemented because budget revision has not occurred. Thus far payments have been made up of 80.4m euros, until the rest are prosecuted once the budget is approved in the Kosovo Assembly. The number of persons involved in the measure is beautiful”, Hoti has declared.

The chief of executives said that the government's focus in 2020 will be to compensate for the economy influenced by Ovid-19. However, he said that unless the pandemic deepens, the economic downturn will only be 2.3 per cent.

We expect that if we don't deepen the pandemic, if we go with these scenarios, we don't need to shut down more economies, but manage the situation that we can end the year with 2.5 or 3 % economic downturns. From that 5, 8 or 11 percent of previous screenwriter”, Hoti stressed.

Hoti during this debate, organised by the Riinvest Institute, said he expects the funding of 1.2 billion euros this year and next.
