More than 20 countries including Japan, Spain, Italy, Thailand, Portugal, South Korea, and Poland will see the population cut by half.

Sub-Saharan Africa, meanwhile, will reflect the number of residents to reach some 3 billion. In addition to Nigeria, it is expected to reach 800 million people in 2100, being second in the world immediately after India with 1.1 billion.
The lead author of this study, Christopher Murray of Washington University, said: “These predictions are good news for the environment, with less stress for food production systems and less carbon emissions, and also with significant economic possibilities for parts of sub-Saharan Africa. ”
However, most countries outside Africa will see the workforce until it melts... which will have serious negative consequences for their economies. ”
For these developed and economically strong countries, the best solution to population levels and economic growth will be flexible immigration policies and social support for families who want to have children, studies conclude. /Periscope
