Democratic Party of Kosovo MP Blerta Deliu-Codra has criticised the Eurodepute's visit to the Special Court a day after the interview of President Hashim Thaci, naming this visit as political interference in justice.
She said at the Parliament's session that the Eurodeput, which is reporting for Kosovo in the European Parliament, should seek justice for crimes committed by Serbia in Kosovo, where 14,000 Albanian civilians were killed, over 20,000 women have been violated and numerous massacres committed.
Deliu Kodra also said the Eurodeput should commit to visa liberalisation for Kosovo citizens, as she has that job in mandate, not interventions in justice.
MP Blerta Deliu Kodra's full budget:
Dear MP colleagues,
Government Booths
I'm going to present my concern and the concern of Kosovo citizens regarding the unusual visit of the Kosovo rapporteur to the EP, Ms. Violet Von Croamon to the Specialised Chambers in Hagge, one day after the president's interview.
The visit but also Mrs. Croamon's statement of special court work is intervention in this court and a move like this should not meet any European official who is in charge of political responsibility. Such children's actions face the EU-responsed, popular phrase that justice should be independent of politics.
We are aware that visits to justice organs and political statements about their processes inevitably damage credibility to these processes and can easily be perceived as deliberate political interventions for certain political favours, which the rapporteur Croamon has shown openly and without a pardon.
But on the other hand, I am surprised by the fact that the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo, but also those of the European Union, have quietly passed this unwarranted and inexplicable act, being aware of the pressure exerted on any far more minority action of any Kosovo politician in relation to the Court in The Hague or any judicial process. The fact that von Cromon is a European deputy does not strip him of the obligation to stay away from judicial processes.
In reality, as a rapporteur for Kosovo, but also as a woman, it would have to become permanent for bringing justice to 20 thousand women and girls raped by Serbia's regular army and police forces. For the Maccabre murder of 1230 children, including newborn babies and hundreds of massacres that caused the killing of over 14 Albanians by the state of Serbia.
It would have to focus its energy on liberalising free movement for the newest citizens of Europe.
The European Union must understand and respect this concern over over overcoming its role on the part of its Kosovo rapporteur and respond to our need for proper reporting insurance and no party concessions on developments in Kosovo. But, even we as representatives of the people of Kosovo should not remain indifferent and demand that Kosovo be presented fairly and rightfully in the institutions of the European Union and not be used as a tool for specific political calculations and manipulations, both inside and outside.
