From the Troy Group, to the famous actors and the Geci family: Distinctions that daily politics made for a few months

Tensions and polarisation of daily policy in Kosovo appear to be leaving huge scars on our society known as tolerant and solidary in the past. This polarization has also contributed to the severe, natural division of public figures, which may be an even more common truth among the local citizens and families.

These are some of the most spectacular divisions that have occurred only in recent months.

Rock-group Troy

Rock-group Troy became famous right through some political songs singing social injustices in songs like “Democracy” and others.

They finally posted on the official Facebook page that they were ending 30-year-old music. This is only five days after the vocalist of this group, Berisha, attended the Vetevendosje Movement rally on June 12th, Periscopi notes.

Never has Troy been personal to one or another member... We know that some would try to misuse the name Troy, even the songs of Troy and wish you luck. The reaction that makes clear reference to vocalist Berisha, who had introduced himself to the rally as the “Troy Group”.

Musicians in Kosovo politics, however, were a common thing in the past. Singer Eliza Hoxha currently serves as PDK deputy in the VII Parliament legislature, just as former singer Memli Krasniqi does.

Actors

A few months ago, former chief of cabinet of former Prime Minister Albin Kurti, Luan Dalipi, openly attacked satirical serial “What's wrong with the house?

This divided Kosovo actors, some of whom defended him while others criticized the series in question.

Among those who criticized him were the famous actors November Fetiu and Adorim Demi.

The Geci family

The mention of the Geci family is only to illustrate the great impact of political tensions even on the atmosphere of Kosovo Albanian families.

While Gani Geci and his Parliamentary MP daughter, Marigona Geci, are accessors of the positions of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Ghan's brother, Halil Geci, is listed on the opposing side by severely attacking party chairman Isa Mustafen.

Also, major divisions have been observed in the community of journalists, war veterans, and other groups. /Periscope
