An earthquake measuring 5 hit Turkey east Friday, according to the country's disaster agency. The quake occurred at the depth of seven miles (4.3 km) at the Puturge district of Malatia province, Disaster Management and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) said on its website.
The quake, which was felt in nearby provinces, occurred at 9.06 p.m. Local time (1806GMT), she added.
Malatya Governor Aydin Barus told Anadolu Agency that so far there were no reports of victims, though the situation is still being monitored.
