Thaci and his team left the country about two hours ago, from where they left for the United States.
Thaci is on his way to attend the June 27th meeting at the White House, where Kosovo and Serbia resume dialogue.
The president was launched on his trip, the Special Prosecutor's Office announced that he has handed over charges against Thaci and current PDK leader Kadri Veselin for war crimes and crimes against humanity.
“on April 24, 2020, the Specialised Prosecutor's Office (ZPS) presented Kosovo Specialised Chambers (DHSK) with a ten-point indictment for consideration by the Court, where Hashim T HACI, Kadri V ESEL and others are charged with a variety of crimes against humanity and war crimes, including unlawful murder, forced extinction of persons, persecution, and torture. Hashim T allegedly in Aktakuza HACI, Kadri V ESEL and other suspects have been prosecuted for approximately 100 illegal killings. The crimes presented at Aktakuza include hundreds of identified Albanian, Serbian and Roma victims of Kosovo and political opponents”, the ZPKU reported.
