It has been a year since the model was introduced on what the Kosovo National Stadium will look like. In fact, it was promised to begin building in two or three months, in the vicinity of Drenas, as soon as the necessary procedures were completed.
But Kosovo's National Stadium is under consideration again being changed to location, from Corrotica to Brnica, where it was originally designated to be the country's largest capital project in history, in terms of investments. So they announced on Monday about “Kah” under the official anonymity of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MKRS), until such was not denied either by Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Vlora Dumi, nor by the director of the Sports Department near MKRS, Iber Abro.
The national stadium is a MKRS project, while it has been talking about at least six years in political and sports circles. Initially it had to be built in a space in the Pristina municipality, but then the location was changed and settled for a space in the middle of Pristina Airport and the Drenas municipality. The decision to switch location was conveyed with numerous debates.
“Nothing has been discussed”, Minister Dumosh, which comes from the ranks of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), has said briefly.
But the longest in the statement was Sports Department Director Alay. He has said the location issue will remain to be decided only after the feasibility study assessment is made.
The “Ende is under discussion and it remains to be decided based on the assessment of the feasibility study whether it is a sustainable project, so whether there can be an investment return, because these investments should return to the ten-year term. For example, if 70m euros are invested and there is no return to investments, it is deemed a failed project. Based on the recommendations, decisions will also be made”, Alay said.
Verily! The LDK is leading the state government with Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti and that prior to the last elections, LDK's candidate for prime minister, Vjosa Osmani, in opening the election campaign has promised to place the return of the National Stadium project from Corrotica to Brnica as a priority.
