Infectiologist Krasniqi: Be careful, just a few weeks ago we were headed for the crowd of inadequacy.

Infectian Valbon Krasniqi continues to be optimistic about Covid-19. He says that social distance and masks should be respected so the infection doesn't spread because according to him, closure is not a permanent option.

We were going towards the end of the pandemic and managed it pretty well. By the second week of May we were heading toward the end of the pandemic in the sense that we managed to reduce the number of active cases under 200 active cases. It was being managed quite well”, Krasniqi said at RTK.

We can absolutely shut down forever and can't keep our lives closed, but we need to be careful to respect the measures each of us can respect. This increasing number of new cases in the past two to three days is the consequence of our behaviour during the last weeks of May. Evidently, there was a euphoria and an added relaxation of the population”, Krasniqi stressed.

“This infection, however, in most cases goes into mild forms”, he said.

He has criticism for failing to comply with ICHPK's recommendations, but does not prefer punishments.

We are a civilized population and we have to take care of our health and others, he says.

He says that anyone who has symptoms or knows they've had contact with an infected person should be notified by a doctor.

Don't hide your disease. Any hiding of symptoms, any hiding of contact with the infected affects the extension of pandemic”, Krasniqi says.
