The city council has pledged to disperse the city police department and replace it with a new system of public security, a move that comes after calls not to finance the US order forces.
Speaking in a campaign before the community during yesterday, most council members said their goal was already to “overlap” and “empowered” the police agency responsible for George Floyd's death and build an alternative police model, writes The Guardian, translate Periscope.

The decision is a direct response to the massive protests that have taken place in many American cities over the past two weeks, and represents a great victory for longtime environmental activists who have been struggling to break up police departments and prisons.
In Minneapolis and other cities along the United States, it is clear that our police system is not keeping our communities safe,” said Lisa Bender, president of the Minneapolis City Council.
