Public Pulse analysis of the United Nations Development Programme in Kosovo (UNDP) has been carried out with a survey of 201 businesses. It says that institutions and organisations, some of the interest, agree that the migration of Kosovo's citizens, especially in terms of skilled workers, is a widespread problem in Kosovo, KOHA reports.
“Engration is constantly perceived in growth and impact on the labour market and lack of skills in the country”, said in analysis.
Besides hoping for better job opportunities and personal economic development, family reunions, according to The UNDP has played a big role for many who have emigrated to Germany.
According to the survey, the majority of employees of surveyed companies who have only had middle education (75%) and worked in technical positions (52%) (i.e. no professional or management positions) and may be easier to replace than highly qualified personnel.
Interviews with institutions and interest organisations revealed that immigration is perceived to have the greatest impact when it comes to professional and skilled workers. This, according to the UNDP, has to do especially with positions such as doctors, nurses and engineers. Consequently, the health sector is perceived as the most influential.
