Wessel: The information technology sector has great development potential

Chairman The PDK, Kadri Veselini, has discussed today through a video conference with some of the best-known representatives of the Kosovo Information Technology and Communication Sector (TIK) to discuss the situation, challenges, needs and potential of this strategic sector for the country.

After video conference, the leader The PDK has written on its Facebook page that the Information Technology Sector has been among the only sectors of the economy that can function with full capacities even in this period of pandemic.

This proves that sector T KK, not only does it have great developmental potential but it also has great benefits for society, so it deserves to be supported even more”, Vessel wrote.

Today, I had a very pleasant and productive online conversation with Uranical Bang, who leads I CK, Astrit Lettin of Cactus, Mergim Cahanin of Gjirafa and Ermal Sadik of Linkplus, who are among the best-known representatives of the Information Technology and Communication Sector (TIK) in Kosovo. Together we discussed the situation, challenges, needs and potential of this strategic sector.

We are grateful that information and communication technology has greatly facilitated our lives in the circumstances of quarantine and social distance, enabling us to communicate with relatives but also enabling the implementation through the internet of many services needed for citizens. Also, this is probably the only economic sector that has managed to function with full capacity even in this period of pandemic. So that proves that sector T IK has not only great developmental potential but also great benefits for society, so it deserves even more support.

ICT entrepreneurs in Kosovo are people of the future, because they compete successfully through global markets with their creativity and skills. This sector has already proved to be the most promising sector for economic growth and massive employment of Kosovo youth. Therefore, it can be said that Kosovo needs them more than they need Kosovo's help. Therefore, the Democratic Party of Kosovo has always believed and supported this sector, and therefore created the Ministry of Innovation and Intervention and will continue to stimulate it in the future.
