Thaci: Free, independent media are pillars of democracy

“Today, technology has increased communication opportunities. The Internet and especially social media have become an important medium for spreading news and information. However, this has also increased opportunities for abuse of freedom of speech by misinforming, manipulating, and misleading the public. So today, we need even more to commit ourselves to protecting, at a global level, freedom and expression of the press from pressures and threats, but also from abuses committed in their name”, Thaci wrote on the social Facebook network.
