News of Germany's opening borders with Switzerland (and other states that it borders today) has already received the answer from the Ministry of Justice and Police, Switzerland (EJPD).
Switzerland's border with Austria and Germany will reopen by 15 June. This was confirmed by SEEPD for Keystone news agency- SDA. The condition is that developments related to pandemic continue to be positive, this confirmation is said.
With that, as Minister Keller-Sutter put it, Swiss summer holidays will also become possible in the two countries mentioned.
It is still not clear what will happen with the opening of Switzerland's borders with France, albinfo.ch broadcasts. It is also unknown when Swiss borders can be opened to Italy.
As albinfo.ch has written earlier, controls at the Swiss-German border will gradually be eased by this Saturday (the one between May 15th and 16th). At the borders with Switzerland, France and Austria, however, they will continue until 15 June. However, from Saturday to all German borders must be checked only casually and no more systematic.
Controls at the border with Switzerland, Denmark, Luxembourg, France and Austria were scheduled on March 16th to stem the infection in Germany.
Since then, only those citizens who could give a “strong reasons”, such as cross-border workers, medical professionals or EU citizens who are going to their native country, were allowed to enter Germany.
