At today's meeting, the incumbent Government of the Republic of Kosovo has also reviewed and adopted the decision to express the will and interest that the former prison building in Pristina, on “road. Lion Haradinaj”, announce the museum.
This decision has been imposed on the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports that, in co-ordination with the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Public Administration and the Ministry of Finance and Transitions, and in accordance with the Law on Cultural Heritage, the Law on Culture Institutions and other legislation in power, to develop all necessary procedures and to propose the Government of the Republic of Kosovo the establishment of this Museum, the news broadcasts.
Also, after reviewing the Kosovo Programme for Gender Equality 2020-2024 and the 2020-22 Action Plan, the government made a decision to approve this programme. The decision imposes institutions of the Republic of Kosovo for implementation of this programme under pre-emptive activities in the Action Plan, while the Agency for Gender Equality within the prime minister's Office tasks it with monitoring implementation and for annual reporting on implementation of the programme.
The Kosovo Programme for Gender Equality 2020-2024 defines gender equality as a fundamental right and one of the important factors for economic growth, development and stability in society. Gender equality is also one of the fundamental principles of defined rights in the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo.
The overall strategic goal of the Kosovo Programme for Gender Equality is ensuring gender equality as a focus of transformation processes in all structures, institutions, policies, procedures, practices and programmes of government, agencies, civil society, the private sector and the donor community. This objective is designed to be achieved by working in three directions:
Establishing equal opportunities to contribute and benefit from economic development, inclusion and improving social well-being.
Advancing gender equality through quality education, quality health, inclusion and exploitation of human capacities in sustainable development and the disappearance of gender inequality and stereotypes;
Advancing the right to decision-making, peace, security and justice.
