“We had a constructive discussion about the situation in the region and the European integration process,” has written Lajcak on his Twitter account.
Lajcak says ambassadors of Western Balkan countries have informed them of his plans within the new mandate as EU special representative for dialogue and the Western Balkans.
When it comes to the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak estimates that the “all sides are willing to continue the talks” and that they are just waiting for “political clendar”, but first the situation with the Coronavirus should allow a physical meeting.
“This time, we need to bring the dialogue, reaching an agreement that will resolve all open issues once and for all, and normalise the atmosphere not only between Belgrade and Pristina, but also the entire region,” said Lajcak.
The EU estimates that “koha, agenda and speed of dialogue” are “in the hands of Belgrade and Pristina”, and that the special representative is working on creating conditions for restarting dialogue as soon as possible.
