Acting Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, in his video conference with Harvard University students, has talked about the role of the American state in resolving the problem with Serbia and reaching the final agreement.
Asked about the reasons President Donald Trump's administration requires a rapid normalisation of relations with Serbia, Kurti thinks that Ambassador Richard Grenelli does not wish the evil to the people of Kosovo, but the demand for speeding up the agreement rather sees it as historic achievements on the part of Green” itself.
“Grenelli has called for a quick deal and is my impression that he did not want evil for the Albanian people and Kosovo, and when something has to be done soon you try to pressure and there is a hurry from him to reach the historic agreement, focusing less on the text of the agreement. He wanted the deal as his main goal. It is now in October that it wants agreement in February, and now wants to reach agreement by September”, Kurti said.
Moreover, Kurti has said it is for a well prepared dialogue, with the US and the EU as mediator.
According to him, President Trump was unaware when he met with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in Helsinki that he would empower Russian influence in the Western Balkans.
“There have been two failures for attempted-puc in northern Macedonia and Montenegro, and now the third turn may be in Kosovo or Bosnia. Trump is preoccupied with the empowering of China, and Putin wants to exploit it in the Western Balkans”, Kurti said.
