An Albanian has lost his life during an accident that took place at noon this Friday in Florence, Italy, which has prompted some reactions by local officials.
The event took place in the central area of Skandici, during the renovation of the facade of a palace, where the 48-year-old Albanian worked for several days as a member of a construction company. He fell from a height of 60 feet [18 m] and died instantly while the arrival of the ambulance was futile.
A terrible news. We have been deeply affected as humans and as communities, shocked and grieved over how we may still die at work. Today is a very sad day for Scandici”, wrote Mayor Sandro Fallan on Facebook, posting the photo from the site.
And the chief of the Federation of Florence, Marco Carletti, says: “We already have two deaths working in the Florence construction industry, during the urgency of the coronary. Another family mourns a worker who does not go home. It's unacceptable. How many other work accidents must happen to clarify the need for more building rules? /A2/
