The head of the Association for Patient Rights, Besim Kodra, has reacted to the MP from the AAK ranks, Time Kadriaj, as the latter has published a document accusing Minister of Health Arben of the Year that he has freed some VV activists from quarantine.
Kodra has said that publishing the names of patients with psychiatric problems is a serious violation of patient rights.
The following can be read of his complete reaction:
Publicizing the names of patients with psychiatric problems is a serious violation of patients ' rights!
When this is done on the part of a health professional, it is an even more serious situation, which also constituted violations of the Code of Medical Ethics!
And when this is done on the part of an MP, it's a violation of the MP's rights and responsibilities!
I do not rule out the possibility that the circumstances, as the MP describes them, are such we are living in Kosovo and everything is expected, but the denouncing of this offense should not be carried out by violating patient rights!
If the minister has committed such a violation, he too is not immune to the Penal Code, since this code says anyone who does not act in accordance with the measures taken by the institutions will be punished (not exempt ministers or deputies).
The Agency for the Protection of Personal Data and the Ombudsman should take seriously this case and similar cases.
The MP should apologize for this gesture!
