(6 years ago)The UN war crimes tribunal in The Hague on 27 May 1999 confirmed that it has indicted Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic as a war criminal. On April 1, 2001, Milosevic was arrested in Belgrade. While at the Serbian government's order on June 28th, it is extradited to The Hague, as the indictment for [...] was formerly made public.

Milosevic is later charged with crimes in Croatia and genocide in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The trial against Milosevic in The Hague began on 12 February 2002.
Extracting evidence of crimes in Kosovo and Croatia and genocide in Bosnia and Herzegovina has lasted until 25 February 2004. His defence began at the end of August that year.
The trial against Milosevic has been interrupted dozens of times because of cardiac problems and high blood pressure.
On March 11, 2006, at 9:30, he was found dead in his cell.
