The Blood Transfusion Center has met the necessary requirements for blood doses. The situation created after the outbreak of pandemic had significantly reduced transfusion reserves. In the last two weeks, however, there was great interest in giving blood after an appeal publicly expressed by the transfusion center.
Thanks to all the donors, we have managed to meet these requirements. Blood requirements for transfusion treatment continue to be present every day”, QKKTG officials for IndexOnline have declared.
Asked what the total number of people who have donated blood in recent months were said to have satisfactory numbers from this center.
“has been a satisfying number, but since a male donor can donate blood 4 times a year and a female 3 times a year, while a patient can receive up to 50 doses within 24 hours, then it remains to be understood that voluntary blood donation must continue”, said further by the transfusion.
Also during the Holy month of Ramadan, this centre has enabled blood donation to take place after Iftar, in the spaces of the QKKTG in Pristina, from 8:00 to 11:30.
The cases in which blood donations are required most in hospital centres usually involve accidents and high - bleeding emergency cases, which require considerable blood and blood components.
Also, hematological, oncology, cases of bleeding from the digestive and gynecological system, people with COVID-19, emergency and other surgical cases” are highlighted by the QKKTR.
