Political stability is key to boosting domestic investment and attracting foreign investment. In this respect, the American Economic Oda in Kosovo expresses its concern over the growing confrontation between political acts in Kosovo, at a time when the country must demonstrate stability not only to advance the development agenda but also to manage the situation created after the outbreak of COVID19 pandemic.
Likewise, the American Oda believes that at the time of the need to increase the overall commitment to empowering the state of Kosovo, political and social actors should show caution and co-ordination. Therefore, the American Oda invites Kosovo's institutional and political leaders to refrain from the language of extreme division, as well as denigration calls and incentives for violence.
The American Oda recalls that any act of violence would further burden the country's poor image before foreign investors, much needed for achieving sustainable economic development. Such actions would not only turn Kosovo back, but would also require new investment and efforts to improve the perception of foreign investors.
The American Economic Oda in Kosovo believes that the country's institutions should demonstrate strong will and serious commitment to achieving overall stability even in the internal context, but also in relation to neighbouring states, since good bilateral reports are the precondition for regional economic integration, but also for advancing the Euro-Atlantic integration process.
