Pristina Mayor Shpend Ahmeti has said that according to the World Bank, due to the pandemic, the economic downturn in Kosovo in the best possible scenario would be -4.5 per cent, and at the worst -11 per cent.
This will affect reducing the number of jobs from 30-50 thousand jobs.
That, according to him, should serve as an alarm for political subjects to agree to a common substanial package, because any delay could cost us.
The World Bank says that because of pandemic, the most positive forecast for Ks-2020 is down -4.5 % and the worst scenario is -11 %. The IMF says -5 %. Translation: 30-50 thousand jobs. Every day we're late we go from good script to bad script. “This is not critical of someone for ignorance, it's called for everybody to act together. This unwillingness of the political subjects to agree to a common substanial package will cost us”, Ahmeti said.
