Wessel seeks urgent approval of the Economic Pack to help farmers, entrepreneurs and private sector workers

Democratic Party of Kosovo Chairman Kadri Veselini has visited the Prizren, Rahoveci and Suhareka municipality today in various activities to meet with private entrepreneurial farmers facing the economic crisis caused by the pandemic coded-19.

Leader of The PDK, Wessel met in the Great Krusha, farmers Muharrem Hoti and Imer Duraku, who together said they planted 20 hectares of different agricultural cultures.

They thanked the PDK chairman for his continued commitment to support him, while voicing concerns that no government has been visited and assisted at this time, as they fear they will have serious problems with the bank loans they have received for investments they made.

We're hoping the state will help us because it's completely forgotten at this time of pandemic. Even if we get rid of the virus, we have to die from banks unless we help”, Hoti said.

What we should do as institutions is be close to them. Muharrem said very well, don't kill us, we're killed by banks. That's what we're talking about, the recovery package that we need to strengthen market demand as soon as we can. We have to run the money so that both farmers and entrepreneurs and employees wherever they are to regenerate revenue. So even banks can help farmers like Muharem and Imer. We're running late, our government's been delayed because it took them as soon as possible, they're spending weeks doing nothing to help these people. Every day for these, every minute is important”, Wessel declared.

He said the PDK is persistently demanding that the 320m-euro economic recovery package be approved as soon as possible.

It is inevitable to pass the national recovery package. It's taking time for this issue of excessive politicisation of the power struggle to develop. We expect the Speaker of the Assembly to put her in Headship, to proceed, because she is in progress in the Kosovo Assembly. We did not have the political will to pass on for a day, but we have the opportunity to spend this financial package, which is necessary”, Vessel said.

Chairman PDK, Mr. Wessel also visited the Kosovo Islamic Community in Prizren from where he congratulated all Prizren citizens for the holy month of Ramadan.

Later, Wessel paid tribute at the September of the renowned Fadil Vata event in Suhareka.

He also met several bakers who thanked them for their hard work in the service of citizens at this time of pandemic.
