Kosovo philosopher Blerim Latifi has recently made a status in his Facebook profile, in which he analyzed whether the KLA has fought <x0 just”.
This status comes just days after incumbent Prime Minister Albin Kurti dismissed his political adviser's position. Shkelzen Gashi, who had issued hostile statements against the KLA.
According to Latif, The NLA has met all the standards of what might be called the correct “war, writes Periscope.
At the end of this analysis, he concludes that the KLA war fully matches standards for “fair fight”.
Full status:
KLA and the concept of fair warfare
In Western political philosophy, from St. Augustine's Cyceron to antiquity, to Michael Walzer in our time, has been highly debated over the concept of the right <x0->war. What are the standards to which a war must be maintained to qualify for justice? These standards are two kinds: you're ad bell or right to war and you're in bang or right to war.
The right to war includes these standards: the right cause, right purpose, legitimate authority, and violence as the last instrument.
Right in war includes these standards: respect for the laws of war, proportional violence and non-targetting of civilians.
How does the KLA fight stand in relation to these standards of fair war?
Let's start over, so it's fair to fight.
The KLA war was fair, because its cause was the brutal depression of the Milosevic regime, which was violating the natural rights of Kosovo Albanians, their right to life, freedom and property. The purpose of this war was also just because it was the purpose of ending this depression. Third: the KLA war was legitimate, with the fact that its support was popular, not the support of a fraction of society. Fourth: the KLA war came without failing peaceful resistance to end the depression, which matches the standard of violence as the last instrument.
The standards of right to war:
The trials against KLA members have not argued about the existence of an operational platform that conflicts with international war laws. The propaganda in the use of violence is something which is worth not even discussing, because the KLA's real capacities in the use of force have always been extremely limited in dealing with those of the Serbian Army. Last, the untargement of civilians: there has never been a KLA platform to attach the civilian population. U n The CK, from beginning to end, has acted in ethnically homogenous areas, even in defansive positions, positions that did not last long because of Serbian Army offensives. In the Workplaces The NLA has never had civil resistance to it. Sporadic individual cases, which may have occurred, do not meet the criteria for being described as resistance against KLA authority. So, looked at as a whole, the KLA's war fully matches the standards of fair war. Saint Augustin would not hesitate to choose this war as an illustrative example for his theory of fair warfare.
