Former political representative of the Kosovo Liberation Army, Bardhil Mahmut, has reacted sharply after statements by Prime Minister Kurti's adviser, Shkelzen Gashi, who has said members of the KLA have killed members of the Serb community during the recent war in Kosovo.
Mahmut says such statements have echoed in Serbia, saying Gashi is worse than Milosevic's people.
For Mahmut such a statement by Gashi is anti-Albanian and scandalous.
As Mahmut writes, Serbia's secret service 20 years ago had found there were about 175 people from all kidnapped communities, until it says that after 20 years an adviser to Albin Kurti says there are 1,000 of them.
Full response:
Albin Kurti's adviser blacker than Slobodan Milosevic's men!
The scandalous anti-Albanian statements that have consistently made Shkelzen Gashi took on greater proportions because of his post as adviser to Kosovo Prime Minister Mr. Albin Kurt.
Most of the people who have reacted have voiced revolt against such statements, and a considerable number of them made public appeals for the dismissal of the post.
What made me react is the consequences of such a statement.
A number of Serbian newspapers seized the opportunity to generalise Shkelzen Gashi's stances as if they were attitudes for all Albanians! To illustrate, I'm bringing pictures from the headline of the Serbian newspaper “Kurir” entitled PRANNUAN CRIMES OF PRANUAN The KLA! Kurt's adviser, Shkelzen Gashi: Dick Marty's right, we got 1000. DEATH CIVIL!”
In “the White Book” of the Serbian Secret Service, published and distributed in March 2000, namely 9 months after the war ended when Slobodan Milosevic was still in power, lists of murdered, kidnapped and missing civilians attributed to the KLA were published. In this official edition of the Serbian state, which includes the period from January 1st 1998 to June 10th 1999, that is, until the date Serbia considers the end of the war, the official number of Serbs and Montenegrins allegedly killed by the KLA is 75, while at least 100 other persons of these ethnic affiliations had been kidnapped or disappeared from the KLA.
To make it seem as tragic as <x0) the activity of Albanian terrorists”, on the list of persons killed, kidnapped and extinct, people of extended ages who were unable to defend themselves are mentioned. The list is named Miroslav Smigiq, 80, Sultana Shmigıq, 76, Aleksandar Shmigiq, 75, Jovan Vasic 74, Vitko Kostic, 70, Stajko Andjelkoviq, 69, Darinka Vujosev, 69, Dragoljub Vostiq, 69, Zivorad Krstik, 68, Radomir Votti, 67 and so on.
It is noteworthy that from January 1, 1998, to June 10, 1999, in the Amez Book of the Dead in the county of Decani, Peja, Rahovec, Skowright, and Drenas - the municipalities where the intensity of the war was greater - no Serb was registered as dead from natural death!
Imagine our situation for a moment! Power that applied genocide against Albanians in Kosovo charged U CAK for the murder, kidnapping and disappearance of 175 Serb and Montenegrin civilians, meanwhile, 20 years later Shkelzen Gashi increased their number to 1000!! That's why Serbian media gave him such great publicity!
Such claims represent, not Albanians, but surface appearances in the new historical context of logic that Serbia has planted in Kosovo!
This is not about freeness of thought! This is a scandalous slander with the intention of tarnishing the KLA. It's up to the prosecution to consider the possibility to file a slander indictment, otherwise, it must be done by associations out of war!
