Kosovo Statistics Agency (ASK) has published the results of the Workers Power Survey (AFP), for 2019.
The poll has expanded to 998 recording districts across the country's entire territory, where 8,815 family economies, selected according to the method, have been surveyed by the proportional framework of the population, family economies and residences of 2011.
According to results released from this publication, two-thirds of the population in Kosovo are a working-age population. Work age populations include 15-64 years of age. Within the working age population, the rate of participation in the workforce is 40.5%.
The employment rate at the Workers Power Survey (AFP), in 2019, is 30.1%.
The highest employment is in men 46.2%, while female employment is 13.9%. Women are employed, mainly in the sectors of education, trade, and health care, with 53 percent of them. While, males are mainly employed in the trade, construction and production sectors, with 46.3%.
Economic sectors, leading by employment, continue to be: trade by 17%; construction by 12.6%; production by 11.9%; and education by 10.0%. Other sectors, however, participate at a lower rate in employment.
As for employees with contracts, 45.3% of employed persons have permanent contracts in their main work, while 54.7% have temporary contracts.
According to AFP results, the unemployment rate in 2019 was 25.7%. The most pronounced unemployment was in women at 34.4%, compared to men, 22.6%. The most pronounced unemployment rate is among 15-24-year-old groups with 49.4%.
According to the AFP's results, the inactive power in 2019 was high enough, 59.5%, with special focus on women at 78.9%, compared to men, 40.3%.
For the implementation of the AFP, for 2019, the methodology and standards applied by the AK are harmonised with Eurostat recommendations.
