According to them, the meeting was aimed at clarification, as well as better inter-institutional co-ordination between Government and municipalities. The IKSHP recommendations have been clarified at the meeting, as well as the high need to make new decisions and measures by the Ministry of Health, with the aim of managing the emergency situation because of preventing the spread of COVID-19. In this case, it has been clarified that because of the short time and necessity to make immediate decisions, a comprehensive consultation with the mayors of Kosovo's municipalities has been impossible, in terms of new measures taken by the MSH.
Minister Rexhepi has expressed high readiness and has assured Chairman Gashi that further actions related to the emergency situation, which have an effect on implementing municipalities, in each case will be consulted in advance with Kosovo municipal mayors and the Kosovo Commission Association.
Minister Vitita has called for understanding of all mayors and clarified that in terms of recent decisions, due to the situation and the high need to take quick action in handling the situation, it has been impossible to have preliminary consultations with mayors.
He has expressed higher considerations for the job of mayors in managing the emergency situation, and has also assured Gashi that each future decision will be taken in full co-ordination with Kosovo municipalities and the Association of municipalities.
Gashi has filed the need for better co-ordination between the municipalities and the Government, and has also demanded that the municipalities that are scheduled to be located as a quarantine area be consulted and informed in advance. He also assured the relevant ministers that all recommendations and decisions made by the MSH will be implemented in all municipalities, in full co-ordination with all Kosovo municipalities and leaderships.
Rexhepi and Vitita once again reaffirmed their willingness and commitment to support the municipalities in coping with the emergency situation.
