Kosovo's National Public Health Institute calls on citizens and individuals from various organisations to stop pressure on this institution and not prevent its work.
The institute says that from February 8th to April 26, 2020, at the Medieval Microbiology Laboratory in IKSHPK with the RT- The PCR, a total of 6,479 suspected cases in the SARS-CoV-2 virus, and a total of positive ones resulted in seven hundred sixty-three cases.
“IKSHPK understands each citizen's concern about his health status, but he cannot submit to the dictates of anyone self-esteeming that he should be tested because such a responsibility belongs to I KSHPK, which does research and access to all suspicious cases with COVID-19, surveillance of quarantined persons; collecting and interpreting data and communicating with the population with recommendations and advice. Unfortunately, different individuals, using the media and the sensitivity of the situation, pressure epidemiologists, whose main burden of contact with infected patients, all their contacts, and during their work, these teams face harsh behavior and also get insults from such people. I K The KPS calls for contacts to have understanding during working with the IKSHPK teams and to understand the fact that not all can be tested at the same time and on the same day, as it requires more caution and courtesy from others who unfairly and by various quarantiners record health professionals and institutions by addressing unarranged criticisms and by tarnishing the work of IKPK<1>, it says.
IK The KPS will continue to be committed to implementing the Plan of Readiness Action and Response Against Coronavirius Ovidius-19, and maintaining public health of the population.
