The initiative is part of an $11 billion economic stimulus package the Bahrain government has set aside for the private sector to ease the economic impact of COVID-19.

The government will spend a total of $570m on the salaries of 100,000 private sector employees between April and June to help them overcome the effects of the coronary pandemic.
