Coronavirus infects the army in Russia, over 2,000 affected

From March to April 26th, 874 military forces have tested and proved positive, the Defence Ministry said on Sunday (April 26th), adding that most of them were either isolated at home or in military hospitals.
Another 971 cases were confirmed at military academies and schools across the country, and 245 civilians employed by the defence ministry have also resulted positive. Most patients showed no symptoms, the statement said.
Over the past few weeks, reports had appeared on several independent media in the country, for the explosion of the Coronavirius at military academys, including troops who participated in the trials in Moscow for the May 9th Victory Day parade, writes CNN.
Last week, the head of the Presidential Military Medical Academy Kirov in Moscow was fired for failing to implement adequate coronary measures.
The defence ministry did not disclose the exact number of cases at the academy, saying the cases were found in foreign students, as well as 55 cases in students of other faculties.
Several thousand soldiers are also in quarantine after taking part in the Victory Day parade in Moscow on April 6th.
The massive parade marking the end of World War II in Europe, which usually has some 13,000 troops marching at Red Square, has been pushed by the country's president, Vladimir Putin.
So far in Russia, 794 victims from Covid-19 have been recorded and 87,147 infected according to Worldometers have been registered.
