As of early March, 19,718 patients died, 12,069 of whom were in hospitals (+227) and 7649 (+168) in pension homes, Solomon said at a press conference.
The number of patients hospitalised on Sunday was 30,610, of which 5,744 are in intensive care, or 89 less than Friday. This is the 11th day of the drop in intensive care.
This data describes a very slow deterioration of the epidemic, but hospital stays very high, Solomon said, conceding that the “efforts of all measures to limit the movement are effective and slow many epidemic”.
Prime Minister Edouard Philippe has warned that “the French will not go back for a long time” to their normal lives.
