Serbia closes border crossings with Kosovo

Three border crossings between Kosovo and Serbia have been closed on the part of Serbia, following a decision by President Vuciq. From Friday at 2: 00 p.m., at least for 48 hours and beyond until another decision has been closed border crossings with Kosovo, at Jarinje, Brnjak and Merdare, on the part of Serbia. [...]
Local Serb media in northern Mitrovica have received information on closing the border with Serbia through citizens who have tried to make sure that Friday after 2:00 they cross the border in Jarinje, Brnjak and Merdare and enter Kosovo, but have not arrived, because as they have said the so-called “mined border crossing” has been closed on the Serbian side.
As “Kosev” has learned, The Serbian MUP has issued the ordinance of all police teams at border crossings with Kosovo that from Friday to 2: 00 p.m., they have closed for at least 24, 48 hours and so far, respectively, to any other decision. Serbia's president, Alexnder Vuciq, in the context of the fight against the spread of the coronary, has ordered the closure of all border crossings for the entrance of travellers, except for trucks.
Even inter-tour traffic has been cut off, until the government of Serbia has sent planes to take its remaining citizens to airports. And to the south of Mitrovica continues the implementation of Serbian Government measures for preventing the Corona virus. Mitrovica Mayor Agim Bahtiri has called on citizens not to move on the streets until parks and citizens are closed and they are recommended to stay inside. Also, the chairman of Mitrovica has closed access to the acumulating lake as another precautionary measure.
Even in the Drensa and Skowright municipality, the recommendations of the Government of Kosovo are being applied until the mayor of Drenasis, Ramiz Laddrovci has asked for a revision of decisions from the central level for the prevention measures against the COVID virus 19 dealing with the work of bread ovens, stock exchanges, kebabies, cooks, and other foods that sell drinks and food, but also those that are in the locals, as well as autolars and gas stations that sell goods and vehicles, but that have local restaurants or restaurants.
Based on this ordinance, we are expressing our concern as a municipality for the presence of the large number of citizens who are flocking to these points, which were allowed to be sold and therefore, are potentially endangered in the spread of the COVID-19 virus. So, as an institution, we express our concern that allowing these operators, except for bread ovens and granters, pharmaceutical, agricultural and food retailers, could cause eventual spread of the virus, even though municipal inspectorate is on the ground all the time, and monitor the implementation of preventative measures against the COVID-19 virus.
Our concern also stems from the constant calls of the National Public Health Institute (IKSHP) and the World Health Organisation (OBSH), for citizens to avoid exits, except for urgent cases”, wrote the chairman of Drenas, Ramiz Ladrovci.
And meanwhile, Vushtrri chairman Xhafer Tahiri, through the social facebook network, has announced that 50 thousand euros have been allocated from the Vushtrri Community budget to cope with the social situation as a result of the coronary. This amount can grow depending on developments. Local businesses and donors are welcome to join us. We plan that even 5 percent of the means from the category of capital investments will be used to cope with the socialised situation. The situation in the Vatican municipality is stable, we have taken necessary measures and we have full mobilization. Together with the Islamic Community in Vushtrri and the Red Cross, we have identified families that are with the most difficult social situation and will be supported by social packages. But honored citizens, please hold to the government's recommendations and stay at home. Only by keeping distance, cleaning hands, and vetoing will we defeat this secret enemy”, did Tahiri say. / Voice
