With 63 votes for, no opposition and abstention, MPs in the Kosovo Assembly have approved the budget for 2020.
This approval comes, just a few hours when the Bill was voted for first reading after an extraordinary session due to the Coronavirus situation in the country.
Finance and Transferences Minister Besnik Bislimi in presenting the draft budget has shown that its value for 2020 will be 2 billion and 357m euros.
The growth of revenues will be 131m euros, while spending will be 266m euros with a budget of 2 billion and 357m euros. The budget deficit will be 2 percent”, Bislim said.
According to him, economic growth for this year will be 4.2 percent, while inflation 1.3 percent.
Real economic growth is expected to be 4.2 percent, and nominal 5 percent. Inflammation for 2020 will be 1.3 percent, the base calculated before Coronavirus”, he added.
Prime Minister Albin Kurti has called on MPs to approve this budget, where, according to him, it is being done to see the status quo.
We wouldn't want everything done in one day, since there's no guarantee that sessions can be held in the next few days, because we don't know what will happen with Coronavirus's approach. In 2013, the budget was approved on the last day. Having this situation, I invite you to adopt this budget. There are over 300m euros in expenditures. It is not a new budget, as is the new government”, Kurti has requested.
