Democratic League of Kosovo Chairman Isa Mustafa has once again commented on the White House statement about claims of a secret agreement between Kosovo and Serbia on exchange of territories.
Such an agreement mentioned by incumbent Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has been exposed yesterday by an American State Department communique.
Mustafa, today through a Facebook post, has called for unification of the political scene towards a final agreement between Kosovo and Serbia, adding that Kosovo should trust the United States of America.
He has said that every time he is entrusted to America, he has fallen well to Kosovo.
Mustafa calls on politicians to overcome party and ideological interests in the function of Kosovo's progress.
This is his post:
Dear friends,
Now when the White House statement clarified everything about today and Kosovo's future, it is up to us to sit down and find the right way to move forward.
The Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) and I firmly trust the United States of America. We've always believed it and it's always been good for us. We trust him now and we are convinced that America will convince other Western allies of Kosovo to join us in the process ahead. The final agreement for mutual recognition between Kosovo and Serbia, which makes the country a full international subject and opens its perspective to Euro-Atlantic integration.
The developed political battle, especially recently in Kosovo, should no longer continue. I am convinced that this political battle, in addition to undermining Kosovo's legitimate aspirations and its citizens, makes efforts to ensure Euro-Atlantic unity for Kosovo difficult for our allies.
Kosovo must read them towards Allies' orders. You interpret them correctly. So I invite all Kosovo political subjects to speak in one voice. Let's outrun ourselves for the interest of Kosovo. Let's leave the Meskine race behind and not work thinking only on the day of the vote. Do not cultivate irrational expectations through populism. But let's get together to get Kosovo back in the right direction. Euro-Atlantic orientation.
Kosovo must speak with one voice. With the voice of reason. With the voice of truth. Kosovo has no alternative. Kosovo has only the future in partnership with the United States of America and with the European Union.
Kosovo, today needs a wise and wise political class. There is a need for leaders who overcome their ideological beliefs and electoral interests for the sake of Kosovo. For the sake of her future.
We don't need to invent anything. Our allies, who have always stood by us, must hear them. Because every time we heard them, we've had a good time. Even in the 1990s that suggested that we not become the target sign when the republics of the former Yugoslavia were fighting for their own interests. Even when we were guided by the purpose and manner of liberation. Even when we were promised relief if we accepted the Rambouille agreement. Even when we were guaranteed the state if we accepted the Ahtisaari Plan. Every day till today. That Kosovo has not remained a moment without the political and economic support of its allies.
They are still with us today. To defeat the pandemic that is endangering our health and life. Which will cause economic instability. With the Allies, we can do it. Without them, not only is it difficult. But it's impossible. Let's not lie to ourselves or to citizens.
So let us listen to them even when they are calling us to sit down and find constitutional solutions to the political situation in our country.
It's not a time of experimentation. Kosovo needs a government with full operational capacity to cope with the pandemic and the crisis that will follow.
After we get through this crisis, we have to go back to citizens for recognition through elections. With clear Euro-Atlantic vision and objective programming offers. I.M.
