The Ministry's full announcement:
Public Call for Citizens of the Republic of Kosovo
Dear citizens of the Republic of Kosovo,
In the function of protecting public health and managing the epidemiological situation with Coronavirius Covid-19, the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo have raised high readiness to face the eventual cases of this virus, following its appearance, even in countries around Kosovo.
As has been reported every day for the results of each suspected case tested at the Kosovo National Public Health Institute laboratory, no Coronavirus case has been confirmed.
57 samples tested for Coddy-19 all resulted in negative.
In spite of this, since the world's first cases of Coronavirus have been showing, our institutions have drafted and implemented the Coronavirus Framework Planning and Response Plan, implementing measures like:
·growing the examination and epidemiological research for suspicious cases at Pristina Airport “Adem Jashari” and at other border points;
· Preparation of hospital infrastructure and professional resources to confront suspicious and confirmed cases;
· Equipment with personal protection tools of health personnel and other support personnel at border points in health institutions;
A pre-enforcement of instructions and protocols from the European Center for Influencing Disease Control and Prevention, as well as the OBS provisional Guides for preventing and controlling health infections for suspicious cases of the Devud 19 infection;
·Training personnel to implement protective measures, time-to-day communication of danger in the population and transparent communication with the public;
R-Enforcement of educational and health promotion activities through distribution of information and educational materials, as well as community lectures with the aim of changing behavior, respectively, improving population knowledge about practices that protect from the virus.
We have also made the co-ordination of all support institutions for implementation of the MS's Training and Response Plan against Ovid-19, the preparation of the Centre for Influencing Disease Control and Prevention; the establishment of the MS Operational Centre to monitor and co-ordinate activities and monitoring the situation at all times, and we have established the Steering Committee for Management Emergency Situations in terms of Coronavius Covid-19.
Finally we have taken measures to raise quarantines, which, if necessary, will be used in order to manage cases exposed to the virus, as necessary.
All these measures undertaken so far have had a goal of protecting the population through prevention or delaying the show and spread of the virus in Kosovo, reducing the burden of health care infrastructure and better preparation of both institutions and the community, to confront them, without fear, with courage and professionalism with evental cases.
Additional measures aimed at primary protection of health workers and other services, and the protection of the population has been undertaken today as if it were the ban on air flights from areas affected by both northern Italy and Kosovo, due to the assessment by I High-risk KSHPK, and it will be taken in the next few days.
But just as we have learned from the experiences of other countries that are facing this virus these days, the size of an epidemic like this Coronavirus cannot be accurately predicted, and this requires that we be as prepared as possible.
In this joint effort, there is no room for panic, but there is still room for more caution.
The Ministry of Health and other institutions that we are working together in implementing the Plan of Readiness and Response against Coronavirius Cavid-10, consider your dear citizens' participation in this commitment as important and necessary as the commitment of institutions themselves.
We say we are prepared to face Coronavirus, but we need your help as well.
I urge you to become an active part of this important commitment against COVID-19 and:
· If you come from countries affected by Coronavirus or have had contact with the suspected or affected persons of COVID-19 and have symptoms like fever, temperature, or cough, please stay at home and avoid contact! Alert the health institutions immediately.
