Kurti: Agim Veliu betrayed Government and the Kosovo Police, so I condemned him

He finally showed the reasons for Agim Veliu's departure from the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Here's his statement:

We have had and continue to have social and civic discipline which has caused today in Kosovo no more than 20 people infected with coronarys. Two of them were released at home yesterday for domestic treatment and self-defence.

Impartial, unnecessary and useless announcement of the state of emergency by President Hashim Thaci. We are now waiting for the president's request in the Parliament. Today, I am also convinced that there is no need to declare the state of emergency. I work and I wish this would not happen, state of emergency. We have no reason for that. I expressed colleaguely at the meetings that almost all members of the Security Council live in Pristina, and in an hour we can survive and proclaim this situation. That is why I continue communication and co-operation with all the heads of institutions because it is our duty. After the meeting I didn't immediately follow the releases and I saw them in the morning, among them was Minister Veliu's chief, who has spread pan at midnight, saying that the number of infected is increasing from clock to hour. You are told that the number of infected people is increasing from clock to hour is irresponsible, and when you have political responsibilities, it is punishable.

The minister said yes, of course I am for declaring the state of emergency. That's unattended. I had no choice but to free former Minister Veliu from duty today. He expressed double betrayal.
