Management along with workers is making efforts that even in this difficult situation that the country is going through, to provide unabated energy and coal production from two thermal power plants and mines.
KEK Managing Director Njazi Thaci has indicated that since March 10th, all measures have been taken based on IKSHP recommendations and related decisions by the Kosovo government.
One of the measures taken by KEK is the regular disinfectation of spaces in all production facilities, and also on buses carrying workers. Furthermore, staff has been released with health problems, shared space stays have been reduced. As with the non-critical product staff, it has been forced to be willing, enabling all operations and processes in all entities to operate without any obstacles
Thaci, has indicated that the security committee that exists under KEK has continued meetings with emergency headquarters in corporate entities, where 80% of the workers are engaged, working long hours in order to respect the recommendations of the Kosovo National Public Health Institute.
We've had our initial difficulties with hygienic supplies such as masks, alcohol, pollinators and other things, but at this time we're talking we've all supplied them and we have no problems because of these devices. First of all, we are aware that the main thing is the health and life of all our workers, but they are willing to sacrifice and work, knowing that the production of electricity is vital to all Kosovo citizens, especially in the situation we are going through. I thank all KEK workers, who are indiscriminately committed to preventing electricity production. I owe it to a worker without mentioning the name that although he had diabetes, he volunteered to come to work because he wanted to join his friends, knowing that his workplace is very important for the production of electricity”.
In both KEK thermal power plants and mines, workers are equipped with all necessary means.
They have expressed willingness to work at this time to provide energy production.
At this time the pandemic is hard to work, but our product is essential to the citizen of Kosovo, and by our own will we will do our best to have electricity.
I hope to get through this virus as soon as possible and return to normality in Kosovo. KEK's manager has provided us with all the necessary equipment, starting with gloves, masks, disinfectants, all of it. Thank you. I hope that I can get through this virus as soon as possible and return to normality”, said Isuf Xhemajli, the caretaker electrician in TC Kosova A.
The “is mobilised and has committed this production unit to produce electricity at maximum capacity, thanks to the commitment of workers, who are making it impossible for Kosovo to provide electricity. The KEK's entire management is on alert and has committed all of its capacities in order to take into account the safety of the workers, given the pandemic that is spreading, then providing electricity for all those that this energy is very necessary, for all relevant institutions with particular emphasis doctors or doctors who are on front lines during this time”, said Arben Avdiu, operational director in Kosova B.
