And staying at home for 24 hours is a bit of a struggle for citizens, and these unusual situations have no idea how to spend moments and not get bored.

Kp has conducted an interview with sociologist Ferdi Kamberi to learn from him how we should deal with this unusual situation.

As we should spend time with family, what should we do with children, the elderly?

How society should be organised and what will be the effects of house and housing isolation.

All these questions will be answered in the following interview.

How should the situation be managed after the Coronavirus show in Kosovo?

Ferdy Kamberi: Consider the global situation, and Kosovo has taken on duties and obligations for the situation instead to be managed in the best possible way. Therefore, instructions have been given on the part of Kosovo institutions, and in most cases it is noted that citizens are respecting the guidelines in question. This situation should be managed through an action plan by the Government of Kosovo, including other actors among institutionals, as well as international mechanisms, because Kosovo still does not have the necessary capacities like other states. In this segment, communication is needed with other international organizations as they are: The EU, WHO, UhO, KFOR, Red Cross, etc., in order to assist Kosovo with materials that are needed for the QMFs, QKMFs, but also QKUKUK. Citizens should respect the instructions given by the relevant institutions, not to come out of need unless in more emergency cases and stay at home. The media, as a powerful agent, must have a more construction role in providing fair information to the population for greater care, but not panic. They should be careful what breaks out in their official channels, because things can get out of control and citizens can feel threatened, creating a social panic and uncertainty.

How should we spend time in quarantine?

Ferdy Kamberi: I consider staying home at this stage except for the most emergency is one of the most appropriate issues. This is because men are devoid of all virtue and they do not have any social status. Therefore, at this stage citizens must spend time with their families at home, avoid conflicts, unclear situations in the family, then explain and prepare children psychologically because of the sensitive nature of this category. The explanations should be such that children have positive ways of expressing their feelings or concerns, they/they should be close to parents, and parents should not have feelings of concern or panic because it can reflect on children. Children should be explained that this virus is not distinct from the common flu but that they are not burdened with overindulgence. Use the opportunity to play more children in order to shift their attention to games, education, or recreation at home. For the elderly, however, their state of health requires easy communication and social and psychological support so that even that category does not feel isolated. It is important that social contacts be kept with family members by telephone or social networks so that they do not feel lonely or social isolation. Thus, society has a significant role at this time, through staying at home in addition to strengthening family ties, society contributes to shifting the attention of pandemic to topics or other activities.

What will be the epilogue of this virus, whether it be positive or negative in society?

Ferdy Kamberi: I consider that even this virus, like other viruses in God's name, will pass very quickly, but a greater mobilization of all acts. On the one hand, the country's institutions through offered instructions and assistance may influence that the virus passed as soon as possible, on the other hand, citizens should respect the guidelines in question, media must be careful not to reveal nea·facʹ, psychol ugs and sociologists should also make their contribution through counsel, messages, reactions, communication with citizens so they do not feel isolated. This virus has some other positive aspects, because because the dynamics of time have given people more time to live a life of routine than the family, so today we can use the opportunity to stay more with our families, to support them morally and socially, to have a social solidarity, to understand each other, to help others who have no adequate conditions, etc.

What is Kosovo youth prepared to stay at home? Will they be able to cope?

Ferdy Kamberi: So far it has been seen that Kosovo's youth has respected the instructions needed to stay at home and must continue further, although I fear that for a longer time such a thing could not be met. But we hope that this virus, this pandemic will pass as soon as possible and life will be restored to normality.

What is your advice or order as a sociologist to cope?

Ferdy Kamberi: At this time it is necessary for social solidarity among people to be strengthened, social contacts should be strengthened as much and this can be done through communication, message, social networks in the family and beyond. Businesses, markets, pharmaceuticals should not take the chance to create panic in citizens and increase prices, because we have been through even more difficult times and always in Albanians has ruled solidarity and humanity. The media also need to help citizens with adequate information and not propaganda, which can turn into social uncertainty and panic. In this direction, today it is necessary for each of us to make their own contribution, so that this pandemic can be passed more easily. So during this period of isolation itself, it is necessary to support one another through communication, love, social solidarity, psychological comfort, recreation (with children) and greater attention to health and family.
