The second deputy prime minister in the Kosovo government said he would personally have decided that ambassador to the US to make diplomat Ilir Dugolli.

But who is Ilir Dugolli, Hakki Abbas' nominee for ambassador to the US?
Ilir Dugolli joined Kosovo's diplomatic service with the first group of appointments after Kosovo's Declaration of Independence in 2008.
From 2008 to 2013, he served as head of the Kosovo Mission / Ambassador to Brussels, including Belgium, Luxembourg, the EU and NATO. From 2013 to 2016, he was Kosovo's ambassador to Sweden (resident for Norway, Finland, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia and Iceland), and between 2017 and late 2019 was Director for Security Policy and NATO in the Foreign Ministry.
Between 2002 and 2004, he served as the prime minister's main adviser to Kosovo's first democratic elected government, and during the 2007-2008 negotiations on Kosovo's status, he was a legal expert of Kosovo's “Ekip of Unity”.
Now, Dugolli is Kosovo's ambassador to Turkey.
