Barcelona players reject pay cuts despite global crisis

Football players from many clubs have agreed to receive cut salaries. At Leeds United, for example, players, coach staff and others have accepted cuts in pay in order to pay the other staff, which has nothing to do with football.

However, not all are accepting cuts in pay, with “ESPN” that has criticised Barcelona players' recent action.

“ESPN” reports that barca's stars have rejected the February proposal in pay.

In fact, the players reportedly do not mind receiving smaller salaries, but do not agree with the way the club board suggested it.

Spanish newspaper “AS” confirms this news, adding that the four captains of the team (Leonel Messi, Sergio Busquets, Gerard Pique and Sergi Roberto) have rejected the proposal.

Negotiates between the captains and the board are said to be continuing.

Pay cuts would be practiced on all teams, including women and basketball.

However, the focus is on the football team, whose salaries total over 500m euros more than any other club in the world.
