Authorities claim to have closed borders, migrants pass freely

At the point of the day, a group of 10 people walk down the Kumanovo-Tabanoc highway. It's immigrants. After we stopped them, they told us they came from Pakistan and our territory for seven days. They say they walked all the time and slept in the mountains. They have fled the war and [...]

“From Pakistan to Iran, then from Turkey to Greece and now from Macedonia. We had a problem in Greece, so I'm gonna move on to Italy, maybe find a better future.

What happened to you?

In Greece we had a problem with my injuries. But in Pakistan, you're journalists and you know the fight for the Kashmir case. We're out of trouble, we're going as far away and maybe we're gonna find a better location”, an immigrant said.

From Greece they entered a week ago illegally, but they don't tell who helped them. Their destination is Western states. They haven't seen police and nobody's been holding them along the road across the river, railway and highway. These middle-aged men say they feed on gas stations around the highway. This has a cost.

“2,500 euros per suffering. There are different costs, depending on people.

Who carried you here to Macedonia?

Transport... just walking!

This group of Pakistanis said such groups are still behind them, crossing the course towards Serbia. In Bosnia they say that they are expected by someone to send through Italy to France or Germany.

As soon as on the ground such groups travelling north are observed every day, Prime Minister Oliver Spasovski, the day before, said the borders are closed and will not allow the entrance of any immigrant, even for transit.

Now it's clear to me that transmission is not an option and that routine cannot work. Our decision is to have zero tolerance for immigrants. You know that we have declared a state of crisis, police and military forces on the southern border have been added to Oliver Spasovski, the technical prime minister (07.03.20).

Eight days after the influx of migrants from the Middle East to the neutral zone between Turkey's border and EU countries, the entire region has mobilised border lines with police and military. Meanwhile, Albania has housed the first 50 refugees in one of the country's 6 south-waiting centres. Albanian media say authorities are preparing in the housing of about 30,000 refugees who cross the Greek-Turkish border. According to European authorities, if there is a new wave of migrants EU borders will be purchased and migrants remain in Western Balkan countries.

Meanwhile, Greece is facing the immigrant crisis on all fronts. In addition to fortification of the Earth's border in Europe, the Mediterranean is the largest sealine across Lesbos Island. Turkey, for security reasons, also stopped crossing the Aegean Sea, while failing to allow thousands of refugees to return. There are new clashes of immigrants with the Greek police. Athens claims the Turkish army has equipped a group of immigrants with military means to retaliate, as a number of stun grenades have also been thrown toward the Greek border guard. No life loss reported.
