He has called it an honor to serve the country.
His full status on Facebook:
Dear citizens of my country,
Today my brief trip to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Environment was completed. Unfortunately, it ended in times of emergency confrontation when the country needs strength, calmness and stability. This country must regain this force immediately.
I have abstained from the political process of the last few days because I have considered that the struggle for life at the most difficult hour of the state dominates all. Political battle, at this time, I couldn't do it, and I couldn't do it; even less in the minister's role. That's why I took it.
The trip to the ministry lasted only 52 days. It was a difficult trip because it was still well off, outside any forecast I could ever imagine, we faced the biggest health crisis in a hundred years of COVID-19 epidemic. We acted quickly, faster than many countries with tradition of reaction. We closed air connections and road transports with the most dangerous states. We were the first in Europe to do so, and this early act has saved lives. For me that's enough as a reference forever.
When we closed everything down, we began to care for those locked out for an emergency. Organizing, responsible, careful. We returned parents who had left their children; we returned old, sick, newly married, and we returned, and this will always leave my parents with the body of the lifeless child. I am convinced that we have given meaning to the Kosovo passport far more than we could ever have appreciated. Anthony told me that the battle we're fighting is the soldier who's never behind. I know there's a lot more out there. They'll all be back. There's a good plan. Stay calm.
In this difficult time, we secured the flow of international channels for goods. Even in these late hours, I continue to be in telephone contact with the ministers of the most powerful production countries in Europe. The country remains well-equipped; such will be during the entire crisis. Don't panic.
Today's crisis will pass. Today we even marked our first victory in this battle - the healing of the two infected. As a country and country, we've shown what we can. As a society we've followed high collective culture. Today we have to be with the doctors, the police, the soldiers of the other servants who keep our Republic standing. They're real heroes!
Dear citizens,
The Ministry of Environmental Infrastructure has never been an easy choice; rather, both former ministries were also hard bites all the time. They ask me, do you have any idea where you are? Of course. That's why we started fast. Evil must be hit in the head.
In the first days of our work, we cancelled the 110 million-strong tender, which split without legal and budgetary support. We cancelled the 49 million decision on additional jobs; a year ago these tools would be offered without hesitation. We stopped the terrible financial bloodshed instead of creating half a billion debts. We cancelled the construction decision in Badovc. We proposed a budget giving projects to the whole of Kosovo; despite party and regional preferences everything for everyone. I'd like to have the opportunity that for less than a mandate I ended all the roads leading to Peja, Mitrovica, Gjilan, Podujevo and Gjakova. Projects that had been forgotten for 10 years. To leave a sign for the next generations.
For just a month, with beautiful but constant work, even at night, in the rain until early morning we opened our way to Veternik; the most heavily loaded location in Kosovo. It felt good. It was a message for each project.
The first and last day of work they found us in debt. Good news for the waters, work for street cleaners. We reacted in time. We opened roads, maintained highways, affected and the most untouched areas in Kosovo. We built the system. This system continues to clear tonight.
I built a team of educated, professional and dedicated people around me. With them in the cabinet, we showed a sense of public money. We gave all seven cars to the cabinet dedicated, but to these advisers, to the use of the Inspectorate. The inspectors had only five of them by then. We stopped the practice of contracts on the work, abolished illegal regulations, broke the influence of parapolics on the ministry. For a month, we spent only 588 euros. A lot of 14,000 euros were spent the same month a year ago. Alban, Flowers, Crenar, Silver, Verona and Iriad thank you.
I met with international organisations, donors and ambassadors of the most friendly countries in Kosovo. We translated hundreds of millions of projects into infrastructure, transport, water and environment that tomorrow transform Kosovo radically. Some of these projects were shamelessly ignored. The tools that were under the control of capture made themselves interested in the captain. Only when you're inside do you realize how serious the situation is.
As long as it takes, I want to thank the government cabinet for their cooperation. The prime minister, deputy prime ministers and deputy ministers, with whom we shared difficult moments in crisis management and policy construction. I especially want to thank Minister Vitita. With Arben since the outbreak of the pandemic, we had to share ideas, communicate problems, and make quick solutions to problems that we had never faced. I also thank the deputies of the majority of the Prime Minister Osmani who was a supporter of our ministry. In particular, I thank the LDK and Mayor Mustafa for giving me the party support so necessary to do well. We'll still work harder to keep the LDK strong and fair.
Dear citizens,
The Assembly gave me a warrant; The Parliament received this same mandate. I hope I've filled out your expectations between these two decisions. I hope I also want to believe that the interrupted journey will continue the same with anyone who comes after now. I have seen extraordinary people in public service who all they want is an opportunity. I've seen hope and demand for change in any communication abroad.
This hope must be preserved.
For me, serving the State was especially an honor at his most difficult hour. Being a minister of an excellent country of fine citizens is quite easy. I will retain this task with equal will.
Now, I want to go back to my two daughters, Rose's Wind, which I've long seen and left behind. I hope they understood me a little bit.
Until the next station,
Yours,
Lumber
