Thaci: Country institutions work harder with US to reach finalisation of agreement with Serbia

He told about what he discussed with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, with US Department Representative Philip Reeker from the State Department and Senator Ron Johnson.

“Initially was the meeting with NATO Secretary General Mike Pompeii, where we talked about developments in Europe, the functioning of NATO, developments in the Western Balkans, and the focus we have as Kosovo for the Euro-Atlantic future, in particular after the establishment of the Army that we need to start with the Partnership for Peace process, to continue with full rights to be part of NATO”.

“The messages we heard from Secretary Pompeii were extremely encouraging in the sense of Kosovo and the Balkans”.

I also had the US Department representative Philip Reeker, with whom we long discussed the development of the Western Balkans with particular emphasis on the possibility and need of reaching the Kosovo Agreement Serbia, in order to open the perspective of economic development and job creation”.

“Pos these meetings today I also met with Senator Ron Johson discussed the further steps Kosovo should take for democratic reforms, but also for the future in empowering relations between Kosovo and the US”.

Thaci stressed that in all messages from leaders to the conference in relation to Kosovo is to preserve this Kosovo partnership with the EU, NATO and the United States.

“This partnership is maintained and cultivated only by bringing responsibility as the country's institutions to build civic democracy to deepen reforms, and to conduct correctly and responsibly with all neighbours”.

“I am encouraged with all meetings from what I heard about Kosovo in Munich, from all personalities”.

The president further said he is required by the country's institutions to work harder with the US to reach the finalisation of the agreement with Serbia.
