PDK: Kamenica municipality suspend arbitrary decisions in education and enable students to continue teaching in their schools

The branch of the Democratic Party of Kosovo in Kamenica has carefully followed recent developments about the uncontaminated and uncontaminated efforts of the municipality for the alleged “reform in education, which resulted in failure and left many consequences on students who for months lost the education process. Today the mayor of Komuna [...]

Today the mayor of the municipality acknowledged the failure of the “reform” education which began with a hostile approach with citizens, trying to impose arbitrary decisions calling the provisional closure of several schools.

The suspension of “reforms” by the mayor of the municipality for the schools in Korea and Topanica is reconfirming the PDK stances that schools do not dare and cannot be closed with arbitrary decisions and without consultation with the community.

The PDK invites all parents to send their children to schools where they have always followed lessons in Korea and Topanic and seeks emergency plans from the municipality to compensate for lost hours as a result of arbitrary decisions by the municipality.

The PDK calls for the Kamenica municipality to review the previous decision to close schools in other villages of the Kamenica municipality and to interrupt “reform” arbitrary) to pave the way for debate and decisions for the students after consultations with relevant education institutions and in consultation and co-ordination with the specificants of the respective municipalities.

The PDK asks Kamenica Community to apologise to parents and school students who kept them closed with arbitrary decisions, as well as to ask the Community to drop court indictments for citizens who refused to resort to violent “reform” in education.

The PDK will be open to give its contribution to the Municipal Assembly to discuss a real reform in education, but which should take place after a broad analysis and in consultation and co-ordination with the Ministry of Education and Residents of the municipality of Kamenica.
